Self-Love

What is self-love?
Everyone has their own definition of the word “Self-love”, but for me, it means that you do the things you love, that makes you happy, that makes you feel like nobody can knock you down, and if you are doing that regardless of what people say, think or kind of opinion they create of you.
This kind of love is important to have before you can even start loving someone else, because what is the point of loving some “stranger” if you don’t even love yourself in the first place. I know it sounds cheesy and corny but it is true and you must make sure that you must put yourself first regardless of what state of your life you are in either you are single, in a relationship, or married and I know how that sounds ( selfish, egoistic, etc. ) but who will put your happiness a priority if not yourself and you better fight for that happy life. After all, that is what you will be doing your whole life because nothing, and I mean nothing in this life comes without putting some fight to obtain that goal that you want to achieve.

Body Shaming

Reblogged from thereisonelife

thereisonelife:

Hello Everyone,

Today’s topic is about our bodies and how we treat it and by “treat” I do not mean how food affects our bodies, but how we treat it in the mental meaning.

Okay first things first BODY SHAMING

Body shaming is a common issue for women. That is a fact that is a common issue for women, but most people don’t realize is that men also do struggle with it also the same goes for obsessing with body image. Another fact: “If people continuously receive negative comments about their bodies, it will influence their self-esteem and might lead to anxiety or depression.“So from this point on we are not talking about only men and women, we are talking about all people ( all genders ). In some extreme cases, the victims may want to undergo plastic surgery. "They can’t accept themselves,” - They said. To solve this issue, many people suggested that victims of body shaming find a good support system. The sad truth is that a lot of the victims may be in a negative environment like for example: having friends that always make fun of your weight and size, or family that puts you down by the way you look.

What to do in these cases?

Some people may think the answer is easy, yes in some ways it is but the other it isn’t. The answer is: “If [their family or friends] like to make negative comments, it means they may need to find new friends [who are more accepting]”, and why is this answer in some ways hard is because of some peoples feelings towards their friends, they may not want or cannot make new more accepting friends because they have been friends for a long period of time and have attached themselves emotional too hard for them to let go.

Alright I want to address an example of body shaming that maybe everyone knows and that is when several designers declined to dress Bebe Rexha for Grammys because she’s ‘too big’

As the Grammys approach, she took to social media to discuss the trouble she’s been having when she and her team reach out to designers but they all allegedly decline because she’s “too big.” She went to social media and said: “But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys. #LOVEYOURBODY,” Rexha tweeted with a video of her explaining the situation.

“ So I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like the coolest thing ever,” she said at the beginning of her video. “And a lot of times, artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet right, like you go to any big designer,” she shared.

She continued: “So I had my team hit out a lot of designers and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, I’m too big,” the Meant To Be singer said.

“If a size 6-8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t want to wear your f**king dresses. Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses,” Rexha said.

She concluded by saying: “So all the people who said I’m thick and I can’t wear dresses, f**k you and I don’t want to wear your f**king dresses.”

How can we stop Body Shaming?

6 Ways to Stop Body-Shaming Yourself

1.    Be mindful. We’ve talked about this subject before, but it’s still something we want to highlight. …

2.    Accept who you are and the body you have. No two bodies are the same. …

3.    Don’t beat yourself up when you make a mistake. …

4.    Repeat affirmations in the mirror every morning. …

5.    Focus on how you feel, rather than how you look.

So go out there own who you are and don’t be afraid of anything because THERE IS ONLY ONE LIFE.

This is some real and deep  stuff go read it it’s amazing you guys
